COMPETITION RULES
- Entrants must be 13 years or older. Entrants under the age of 18 years must obtain the consent of their parents or legal guardian.
- Users under the age of 13 years will be unable to complete the registration process.
- Entrants must reside in the UK (including Northern Ireland). Those outside of this area may participate on the site but will not be eligible for the competition itself.
- No proof of purchase necessary.
- Winners must not be employed by Wrigley, its affiliates and subsidiaries and must not be related to their families, or persons directly involved in the administration of this Competition, including Wrigley's agencies [TBWA] and [Acknowledgement].
- How to enter:
- Users need to register at www.goskittleyourself.com to play the game.
- To register a user needs to supply their name, date of birth, email and choose a password. If a user supplied a date of birth which means they are under 13 they will not be allowed to register.
- Once registered a user can create a Skittler. To create a Skittler a user must:
- Choose Skittler colour: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green or Purple
- Choose 7 items to customise the Skittler, head gear, eyes/eyewear, facial item, left leg, right leg, left arm, right arm (there are 21 items in total for each colour, 7 groups of 3 items e.g. 3 kinds of eyes, 3 kinds of left arms etc)Give their Skittler a name, and also check that their name is unique to their SkittlerEnter the Skittler’s location
- Game Rules
- Users can only customise their Skittler with the 7 items they initially chose on the Skittler Creation Screen OR items they have unlocked through Skuffling
- After registration the user will have 25 points added to their Points Bank, which they can allocate to their Skittler’s 6 attributes, Charisma, Strength, Speed, Intelligence, Fruitiness and Chewiness. (25 points over 6 attributes is designed to stop every user giving each attribute equal points and thus resulting in drawn rounds).
- Once points are allocated and saved to a particular attribute they are locked in that attribute, so users are only able to add (not subtract) points to already saved attributes.
- While the user is in the Skittler Home Screen customising their Skittler the user’s Skittler (in it’s last saved state) may still be taking part in Skuffles (challenges from other Skittlers). If they defend successfully, and win these challenges they will be allocated 2 points. The user can refresh their Points Bank balance to see these points.
- Skittlers have 10 lives each day, these lives only decrease if a player loses a Skuffle, so they need to choose their opponent carefully. Only players instigating the Skuffle are eligible to lose a life. If you are challenged and lose, your lives will not decrease on that day.
- Players can only Skuffle with another Skittler if they are equal to or higher than their Skittler in allocated points. This stops players from beating weak opponents with strong Skittlers.
- Unused points sitting in a user’s bank have no bearing on a Skittlers strength, so it is up to the user to allocate as many of their banked points as possible, to have the best chance of winning.
- Players cannot Skuffle with the same Skittler twice in one day (this helps to prevent cyber bullying)
- Each Skittler receives a win for each attribute they have higher than the other Skittler. Equal attributes will result in a tied round. At the end of the three rounds the scores are compared to see if the user’s Skittler has won, lost or tied the Skuffle. A Skittler wins by winning 2 or more rounds. If each Skittler wins a round and tie the third, or all rounds are tied then the Skuffle is a drawn.
- Win: The player gains 5 points to any of their Skittler’s attributes. The player can also select one of the opponent’s items to unlock and use to customise their own Skittler (the opponent Skittler does not lose this item, the winning Skittler gains it)
- Lose: The player loses one of their allocated 10 daily Skuffles (lives); your opponent gains 2 attribute points.
- Draw: The players gain no points and lose no lives.
- If a player gets to 0 Skuffles (lives) left, they will have to wait until the next day (reset would be at 00:00 GMT) until they regain another 10 Skuffles (lives)
- A user cannot advance or Skuffle again until they have allocated their winning points and selected to unlock an item (if eligible). Players leaving this screen or closing the browser prematurely will be taken back to this screen when they log back in.
- As players win more rounds, they unlock more items; these can then be swapped out at any time to create a more unique character.
- There will be 105 regular items in total, 21 for each of the 5 colours. As you have chosen 7 of these to customise your character with initially, there remains 98 items to unlock by beating a Skittler with one of those items equipped.
- There are also 5 special items that add points to certain attributes. These will be special hats that are unlocked after winning a specific number of Skuffles against different coloured Skittlers. For example, beating 50 green Skittlers will unlock the Green Tremendous hat of Tentacles! Which could at 30 points automatically to your Skuffler’s speed attribute. Beating 50 red Skittlers could unlock the Red Rocket helmet of Research, which might add 30 points to your Skittler’s intelligence attribute.
- Skittlers can unlock all 5 of these special hats by beating the set number of coloured Skittlers, once they have unlocked all 5 special coloured hats, a further extra special rainbow item is unlocked that will add 50 points to all attributes.
- These would be special arm items. Only 5 initial special items and 1 extra special item will be available at the start of the game, as the game progresses, a new series of 5 special hat items and 1 rainbow special item will be released (the actual number of coloured Skuffles to win to unlock these can be chosen when we get a better idea of how many Skuffles on average people are winning)
- As the special coloured items are all hats, it stops players wearing more than one at any time, this is to prevent all the Skittlers wearing the same items and looking identical to one another. There is a possibility for your Skittler to have a special hat AND the extra special rainbow arm item.
- These items can only be unlocked by winning the required number of coloured Skuffles, they cannot be unlocked merely be beating a Skittler who has them.
- The winning entrant will be the creator of the Skitter with the most points by the closing date. The competition will run for a total of four weeks with a total of 1 winner.
- Entrants in this Competition accept that Wrigley may name the winner(s) of the prize in public. Only the first names and town of residence of winners will be published unless express consent is given by the winner(s). Winner(s) may be obliged to take part in publicity associated with winning a prize.
- The closing date for entries will be 31st August 2009.
- Entries must be received on or before the closing date stated on the competition or will be deemed to be invalid.
- In the event of a tie in games or competitions, a random draw may be conducted to determine an overall winner or a tie-break question may be used.
